DTH operator, Dish TV is reportedly planning to launch Android set top boxes in a bid to counter Airtel XStream and JioFiber.
As per reports, the DTH operator may announce the launch of the Android set-top boxes as soon as this Diwali.
As per reports, the Dish Android set top box may come with JioFiber like abilities such as 4K viewing, cable TV, OTT app (Netflix, ZEE5, Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar etc)
"We are monitoring new technology developments and are responding to these. In the next few weeks, we are going to introduce connected boxes (android boxes) for the customers who seek new age media entertainment. We also have smart stick at Rs 599," Dish TV India Corporate Head (Marketing) Sukhpreet Singh told PTI.
Singh, however, did not reveal price of the proposed set top boxes.
