News DoT challenges TDSAT judgment on 3G roaming services in Supreme Court.

NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecom has moved the Supreme Court challenging tribunal TDSAT's judgment that allowed Airtel, Idea and Vodafone to offer 3G services under a roaming arrangement in areas where not all of them own 3G spectrum.
"Legal opinion has favoured challenging TDSAT judgement dated 29 April on 3G intra-circle roaming. DoT has sent petition to Supreme Court registry around a week ago for appeal against the judgement," an official source told. for more click here

My opinion is intra circle roaming should not allow to operator, it reduces competition.

These companies are having their Association and they work according to each other so even if its Sharing Roaming or Individual Roaming they will suck our money by the name of Roaming.

But atleast no monopoly, currently AVOID network united in all term and charging same and also sharing all infrastructure, like only one company divide in 3 parts. May be they are sharing revenue according to user base

But this Roaming thing is complicated if Idea user travelling in Airtel in Network then Idea have to pay to Airtel a legitimate fees.

With this partnerships company saving Millions so what we can expect until and unless Roaming won't be taken off companies will keep looted us why we have to pay extra for United India.

Anirudha bro you missunderstood intra circle roaming and intercircle roaming.
Intra circle roaming means roaming in good network area for ex. Maharashtra customer can use other network in maharashtra, so currently airtel not got licence and spectrum of 3g in maharashtra but they using vodafone's maharashtra network to provide 3g services via intra circle roaming. And inter circle means maharashtra user can use other state network while traveling.

I am shocked that this issue is still unresolved. That's the reason industrialist in India do such big scams and enjoy legal battles.

Ok so for whom DoT is waiting these Govt. Agencies just led this private firm to do whatever they want.
