Android Google Allo & some cool stuff

Google Allo finally after months of teasing with its features during the developer conference earlier today. Packaged as a interactive powered by an Artificial Intelligence called Google Assistant, Allo brings in a lot of new features to the messaging ecosystem.

If you are an regular chatting person you will be familiar with features offered by Allo like voice notes, image and video sharing and group conversations. But here are few things that Google's Allo has to offer that maybe missed out by the others.

1. Assistant - Google has decided to integrate its smart search and digital personal assistant Google Now within a chatting app. This means you can query anything to Google without leaving the app itself.
Chatting with a friend and discussing where to meet for a coffee, you can query within the app and it lets both you decide which one to go, all within the app. Like this Sushi example.

2. AI is not just for search but it's much more than that.
Allo now lets you quick reply without even typing on that key board. It understands the text received, and suggests a set of responses for you to choose from. Pretty good for lazy bums like me.
But what is even cooler is that it studies even images. Like shown during the preview it can even understand the kind of picture you have just received.
If you receive a picture of a flower it suggests "Wow its beautiful", "Amazing" etc. A little creepy, but still nice to have. (There is no way you could disable this feature for now, so you better be careful sending those confidential or photos that you don't want others to see a bit secret ;) )
Google calls this a smart and quick reply option, and that it learns better to respond over time studying your behaviour (more creepy).

3. Incognito mode for people who do not want to be eavesdropped. This is an end-to-end encrypted service, to which no one other than the intended receiver will have access too. WhatsApp has it, Facebook has it, Apple's iMessage has it, and now Google has given it too.

4. You can send messages to people who are not on Google Allo.
This is also something different that can't be seen on the other services so far.
You can send a message to a person who still hasn't downloaded this app yet. Google doesn't reveal how this is achieved technically, but the recipient receives a notification on the other end with the message and a dialogue to Install Allo, Ignore and Send. Which is pretty cool as you don't have to drag the person to install it but can get annoying if messages keep coming even if you don't want to install it.
This feature could be what Google is testing called as the preview feature, where you can preview an application or use only the part which is needed without installing the whole app. Which is really amazing.
Check it out here. This is coming to certain games and apps too.

5. Shout or Whisper. This is something we do in chats everyday. When you intent to scream, YOU TYPE LIKE THIS. When you want to whisper, I don't know how to do it. I usually say, SShh...followed by the message.
With Allo you could change the size of the text based on your level of excitement.
It's fun, but you may get bored with time.

Adding to the fun element, Allo also has Stickers, Drawing on the images too.

More features could be added in the future, but for now you can have fun with Google Assistant on Allo, before it gets a stand alone application. (Assistant is rumored to be replacing Google Now)

If you like it download and have fun. Allo is available on Google's Playstore and Apple's App Store for download.

Hi, It's a request to move this thread back to 'Mobile, Gizomos' section. Reason being this app isn't available on Web yet. It is a phone only application, limited to only iOS and Android platforms.
I understand it was moved here citing inappropriate section, and can only request to reconsider to avoid any confusion.

Thanks,
Pingu.

I have already enjoying it. Let's see how many more joins it. Whatsapp is addicted. No one gonna leave it.

Hehehe This app is fun, but I'm afraid it can get boring too. I was like this when Siri and Google Now was launched. Hope this sticks with people although WhatsApp and Facebook is dominating.

I know I've read them too. But I was just asking them to check the sectioning.

But if you think it needs to stay here, let it be. As long as people do not confuse it for a web/desktop app.
Again, this is only available for smartphones. Which only made it suitable to be listed under mobiles and stuff. Your call though, I just had to clarify my intentions.
