There is no Movies NOW SD, its a HD channel only its the bad luck of Times that they not able to provide Movies NOW in HD version because of space or might be carriage problem.

They had 3 channels - Romedy NOW, Romedy NOW + and Movies NOW which is a HD channel but operators also used to downscales it. They revamped Romedy NOW + to Movies NOW + and Movies NOW remains same. Its upto operator to either take upscaled version of Movies NOW or provides downscaled version of Movies NOW +

Romedy now Plus has been shut down and broadcasters revamped and mixed the content and came with a new channel Movies now Plus HD.There is no Movies now HD officially.Its broadcasters who informed DTHs to add this channel in place of Movies now HD as well as Romedy now plus.But seems broadcasters are did not shutdown the operations of Movies now HD.these kind of channels coming in digital cable is very common.this is the real reason.

I think content is in HD only and Broadcasters themselves downscales it same like MTunes HD which all platform provides its downscaled version though MTunes SD is a separate channel.

bhaskarkilli bro, watch the 1st promo and logo of Movies Now. It has always advertised itself as HD channel only if you remember correctly.

I remember bro.But how same content came in HD 16:9 and in SD 4:3??(I think now coming in 16:9 only..I did not check).

As Anirudha said, from day 1 every DTH and MSO is downscaling Movies Now (which is originally HD) to Standard definition so that they could include this channel in non HD packages too.

I think all DTH can provides Movies NOW in original HD but it will unnecessary increase the carriage fee issue for Times already their contents is in 16:9 and it differing as quality wise same as ZEE Cafe available in 16:9 or tries to be in 16:9 since they completely ignored english channels they don't wants to spend penny on carriage fee matter by launching ZEE Cafe HD.

Its simple bro. They downscale it. Like Dish TV used to upscaled SD channels to HD.

Also Nat Geo Music is not a HD channel their contents is in 16:9.
