2. Bread & Circus – 7th August
Bread & Circus is the first collaboration between Amazon Prime Video and La Corriente del Golfo. The series presents and innovating format and rarely seen: it takes back the ritual of food as a space for conversation y bringing different points of view together. The conversations moderated by actor and filmmaker Diego Luna, reunite experts and different personalities to touch fundamental topics and of universal interest in contemporary societies, accompanied by the menus of well-known Mexican chefs.
3. Killing Eve S1- 3 - 7th August
Killing Eve centres on two women; Eve is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfil her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse. The show stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and plays on the BBC.
4. Ramy S2 - 14th August
The series follows first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Youssef) who is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighbourhood. RAMY brings a new perspective to the screen as it explores the challenges of what it’s like to be caught between a religious community who believes life is a moral test, and a millennial generation that doubts an afterlife even exists. In the second season, Ramy delves further into his spiritual journey, finding a new Muslim community and embracing a deeper commitment to his faith.
5. Jessy & Nessy S1B (Kids)- 7th August
Jessy and Nessy is about an innately curious little girl and her 5,500-year-old sea monster best friend. Jessy has magical spectacles (which she calls “inspectables”) and a curiosity that needs feeding. Her inspectacles allow her to see a whole world full of animated characters. Jessy relies on her human and animated community, to help her understand her world in a fun and imaginative way.
