Breaking News 1.85 million DTH subscribers added in Q1-2014

Apart from free DTH service of Doordarshan of Prasar Bharti – a public broadcaster, there are 6 private DTH Operators and all these 6 Operators are offering pay DTH services to the subscribers. Total number of registered subscribers and active subscribers being served by these six private DTH operators, as reported to TRAI, are 64.82 million & 37.19 million respectively at the quarter ending 31.03.2014.

In Q4-2013, Registered DTH Subscriber were 62.97 million and Active DTH Subscriber were 35.81 million

They must be submitting approximate figures but its really confusing how they must be calculating

40% users are inactive, in this dish tv will be way ahead because of rural area market. I had seen, usually they recharge during summer for 4 to 5 months after that they have to work so
