yes.that is what i am saying.they already got license since ages then why the permission showing this month??that means these channels recently got license??then how they are downlinking here??

I think to broadcast a channel, only uplinking rights is required. Isn't it?

What would channels need down linking rights? Service provider downlink and then uplink it to their own satellite to be further down linked by end user.

'Uplinking/Downlinking' means- both uplink and downlink (Zee TV, Star Plus, Sony Max etc. Most of the channels. )

'Downlinking only' means- The channel can only be downlinked (like Russia Today, CNN, BBC World News etc)

'Uplinking only' means - The channel can only get Uplinked from India(Like Zee TV Russia, Zee TV UK, UTV Movies International etc. )

You didn't getting the point, STAR SPORTS 4 was ESPN before now what happened they applied the new license of both STAR SPORTS 4 and ESPN.

Similarly all those previous license was as STAR SPORTS and STAR CRICKET only STAR SPORTS 2 license was from launching itself.

But they used to provide language feed in STAR SPORTS before too isn't it ?

Anirudha I think they treat espn as lucky name. So apply all new channels with this name and later change it

You need Uplink License of India and Downlink License of respective country.
