DD Free Dish will continue to be FTA, but only on authorized STB's

But I think DD channels signals will remain for free and also I don't think any Paid channel is ready for Free Dish weather signals remain FTA or encrypted because then how they will earn from the subscription.

Yes... MPEG2 channels with be FTA on all the STB's and only MPEG4 channels would require authorized STB's.

I am not expecting any good channels on DD FD, only News channels and Teleshopping channels pay carriage fee and gets added.

If you look at CAG report, for Reliance, Airtel and D2h - planned satellite was GSAT 8. God knows what was their calculation

Nice move then...I want to see Government taking more such steps where they showcase their capability to run a venture successfully...they hire best brains as IAS officers and other officials which a corporate can just dream to hire...so they have all the resources, luxuries and brains...could you post any link which confirms this move of GSAT 15?

The only reason why TS didn't move to GSAT 10 is ISRO said it is replacement satellite for Insat 4A whereas TS was expecting additional capacity on GSAT 10 and a replacement satellite would be provided for Insat 4A

I think TS should have challenged Isro in the court........

Atleast C band is being used by DD channels as DSNG (digital satellite news gathering)
