there is a survivor according to a TOI report who mentioned that 7 people were caught by the police and landed up dead in a forest.

if they tried to attack with stones and axe then the police should have shot on either arms or legs but in the head and according to report the entry wound is at the back of the head.

Police are fighting in jungle areas where no one can predict what would happen in a moment....
We know that organised gangs of naxalites & smugglers attack police from surroundings. There is no way to wait & watch whats happening...So forget about shooting on legs.....
