The WWE has fired professional wrestlinglegend Hulk Hogan for using a racist term, reported FOX News on Friday.

Probably the biggest star ever in the professional wrestling business, Hogan is no longer listed either as alumni or as Hall of Famer on the WWE's official website.

A statement from WWE said, 'WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.'

While this does not clarify what exactly it was that led to WWE's firing of Hogan, the language does suggest he was fired for racist comments.

TMZ reported that the wrestler was fired for using the N-word several times, to describe a man involved with his daughter, in a leaked transcript of a sex tape that is the center of a multimillion dollar lawsuit with the gossip site Gawker.

But other reports suggested he was kicked out when it was revealed that he used the N-word (again, multiple times) during an interview with DJ Whoo Kidd.
