Come to AP you will get to know what is the VAT on Petrol.I think it is highest t in India.
may be. but the same thing I also wanted to say. I do not want to do any comparison between states.
For the rational and uniform prices, we need GST. I hope GST would be cleared in this FY only.

see..how govt earning tax..
A sample 1000 rupee meal.
The VAT + Service Tax (Including Swachch Bharat Cess) would be 195.5. (Govt earning 195.5)
Now to take home that 1000 rupees, i had to earn 1333.33 rupees (25% approx Income Tax on salary). (Govt. earning 333.33)
I had to use my bike for the 20km trip to and fro home. Fuel Expenses - 45 Rupees (Govt earns 23 rupees on that. Including latest excise hike of 1.50
So when i went out for a meal for 1000, the Govt. earned 195.5+333.33+23= 551 Rupees.

bhaskarkilli bro - sorry, but i could not understand what u r trying to say.
that we all know and that has been there since ages and in all the countries.

After GST also we will pay all these taxes. but after GST all the taxes will be almost uniform across India.

Income tax will also be there as GST and Income tax cannot be same on percentage basis.

still ur example is wrong. for spending ur 1000 rs. U have paid only one time tax.
the other taxes are on the different amount.

Here scorpionking76 bro told that double taxation which means that a particular amount will be taxed twice which is not possible at any cost.

For petrol and liquor GST + Local taxes will be applicable for few years.

Take the case of Petrol at the current scenario, we are paying both central and local taxes, that's called double taxation. the difference what your relative paying is also double taxation bro.

No one is talking about the clause BJP has introduced that every state from which your product passes in transit will apply additional 1-2% tax. They killed the whole point of gst. Don't blame others blindly. Look what these bunch of idiots are doing.

That 1-2% tax will go to state government coffers only during initial period. Say 5years post which that too will be scrapped and petrol and liquor will be added too in GST.
