Another thing I noticed is when the STB is booting up with Pls wait, initializing the resolution is displayed 1080i, and after the channel appears on screen it comes as 1080p.

It should have displayed opposite ie. 1080p on boot up and 1080i once channel appears. ;)

But it should appear as either 1080i or 1080p depending on the output received from the STB.
But how can it appear as 1080i at start in booting and then change to 1080p once channels appear.
The initial handshake matters bro. even at times the tv displays 720p during boot up.

guys, Finally I got my new HD STB from MSO. Everything is awesome, UI/EPG/ is also great.

I had one question abt the resolution setting:

The STB has the following options in HD

1080i @ 50Hz
1080i @ 60Hz
1080p @ 50 Hz
1080p @ 60 Hz

I have a Sony Bravia 40 inch Full HD LED TV that supports Max 1080p @ 60Hz output.

So guys which of the following should I choose to get the best HD quality
max would be 1080i @60HZ but now resolution max coming from STB is 1080i @50 HZ.so it is the max resolution.so you can put this one.

Which one bhaskarkilli bro. ???

I have set it to max that is 1080p @60Hz. many members here have suggested that.
1080p is just a false option. TV broadcasts are in 1080i. Don't worry about 50Hz and 60Hz, check which one your TV handles better. In my case, it's 1080i 50Hz.

I coudnt find any difference in 50Hz and 60Hz. But yes 1080i and 1080p I could find little difference.
My TV supports both 1080p 50Hz and 60Hz, so I have kept the STB to the default setting that is 1080p@60Hz.

Also members here suggested same, I haven't changed it.

That's good. Are you finding difference between 1080i and 1080p ?

Another thing, I see some dots/pixels around colors hd logo, when I go close to the screen. Is this common, or does the HD channel have some issue.

Also History HD and CNBC HD are not full screen. There are black borders above and below the screen.
