Reliance Communications has introduced India's first 4G-VoLTE-enabled landline phone. The device comes with a SIM slot and wireless support for other devices. This means that the device can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot. The company claims that it can connect eight other devices at the same time.
The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen.
Along with the phone, the telco has also rolled out 4G Smart Life 299 and 4G Smart Life 499 plans at Rs 299 and Rs 499. The monthly plans offer 2GB and 4GB data respectively. The two plans also provide 300 minutes of voice calling (both STD and local). The users will be charged at a rate of 40 paise per minute once the free minutes are exhausted. The SMS will cost 25 paise for local and 38 paise for STD.
