Zee is also planning to launch a Malayalam GEC for the previous 4-5 years. But till now channel is under construction.
So, don't listen them blindly. We have to wait until the channel has come.

But in Malyalam
other players are present thein Punjab there is only ptc.

Punjab is captured by PTC because of the restrictive practiced by Badal owned cable network. There were players who tried viz Zee ABP etc but they were blocked.
Now as Badals have Lost power badly its time Punjabis get to see unbiased narrative from national carriers. surely Zee is entering time will tell if Star & TV18 or any local channel comes up.

Many other players ran away due to their terror.
Thank god, they are out of power.

They are planning a hybrid channel of music and movies
I am rooting for a GEC
(shows).
Well they can start Zee Magic Punjabi.
Youtube has tonns of Punjabi short clips , funny videos and films.
They can join hands with Shemaroo and lokdhun Punjab.
They can make double money by launching it in pak also
As there are more than 100 million Punjabis in pak

Why? Zee has a good library of Punjabi content. After all they had a Punjabi channel. They also took over a popular Punjabi channel named ETC Punjabi in the past.
Though Zee's Punjabi GEC in India was shut Zee still has running Punjabi channels in
1. Europe & Canada - Zee Punjabi
2. USA - Zee Etc Punjabi
Definitely they have had some content and libraries for running these channels.
Moreover Zee has deep pockets to create own content.
