Some 400 passengers were stranded for nearly eight hours at the Delhi airport as their Air India flight to Chicago did not take off.

The flight was scheduled at around 2 am last night.

The passengers were told that the delay was because of technical reasons and the flight would take off in "10 minutes". It has been hours since then.

The airline said that they have been offered breakfast.

The aircraft, a Boeing 777, is still parked on the runway. This morning, the airline said the aircraft would be changed and it would take time to transfer baggage to the new aircraft after fresh security checks.

I got caught in recently when an air India staff got sacked into engine. Out flight has just landed and we were made to wait for half an hour citing shortage of ground staff.
