The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has given to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) a list of 24 unauthorised foreign TV channels that are being downlinked and transmitted by cable operators in different places, Minister of State in MIB Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said. The IB has suggested that appropriate measures be taken to curb the re-transmission of all non-approved TV channels that are being shown by cable TV operators across the country as the contents of some of these channels may not be conducive to the security environment, Rathore added. Most of these illegal channels are from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Gulf countries.
