Idea 4G services in India by various service providers.

It has been reported that 4G services by various Mobile service providers such as Idea, Airtel, Jio are on the way and Airtel has already started the service pan-India in several cities. All of them are offering 4G services at the rate of 3G services. At this rate with the launch of 4G by Jio most places in India would be covered by 4G. My thinking is how can they offer 4G services @ 3G and how long they can sustain it. So, may be after an year or so most subscribers would have enjoyed 4G services, these operators would come up with a higher tariff for 4G services and most of the subscribers would not be in a position to leave 4G for 3G an outdated service by then.
So I think one has to think and go slow on adopting 4G services and allow the tariff to stabilise .

Yeah right. I think 3G was not even properly explored and deployed.

So, instead of 4G operators should try to work on providing faster Internet through wires and 3G.

Some operators have also done a trick of enhancing the tariff of 3G services in several circles and reiterating that they are charging only 3G rates for 4G thus amassing money from the unsuspecting subscriber. Even these 3G services are not satisfactory as the speed delivered is not as expected. Unless the 4G services stabilize we may not be able to make a balance between 3G and 4G services, I think.

Problem is that there is no specific standard for 3G and 4G

and this moneysucking Airtel has comeup with its own version of Platinum 3G. :bang:
