News 50.16 mn MNP requests till May’12

Mobile Number Portability requests jumped from 45.89 mn at the end of April 2012 to 50.16 mn at the end of May 2012. 4.27 mn new MNP requests were received in the month of May across India while April’12 witnessed 4.01mn. In MNP Zone-I (Northern & Western India) Rajasthan has overtaken Gujarat in having maximum number of MNP requests. Rajasthan so far has 4.62 million MNP requests followed by Gujarat with 4.58 mn. In MNP Zone-II (Southern & Eastern) maximum number of requests have been received in Karnataka (5.82 million) followed by Andhra Pradesh Service area (4.81 million).
