However videocon d2h has NOT provided any S/W update for External USB recording for last 3 years after Sony Bravia HDMI compatibility s/w update provided once launch happened.

Could be Business deal not been continued, as d2h started manufacturing their own DVR & STBs products in India with trendelectronics.in TO SAVE the MONEY which resulted in LOW QUALITY & BUGGY products till now.
Thats why videocon d2h now reinventing it's business by NOT providing HD channels & services-S/W updates since long and hiked up HD Package prices by huge differences.
In short Recovering It's Heavy invested money spent in launching SD-HD D2h services & products by now and since then and Proving to be now removing MASK of "Ecconomical Indian DTH" services.
