Piaggio has launched the Aprilia SR 150 scooter at an introductory price of Rs. 65,000, ex-showroom, Delhi, in the country. Since its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo, the scooter became one of the much-awaited models by the automaker. Powering the Aprilia SR 150 is a 154.4cc, SOHC, air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder, engine that generates 11.4 hp of power and 11.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to an automatic gearbox and has been tuned in favour of acceleration.
The SR 150 uses a new steel frame, which is said to have a high rigidity. The design of the sport scooterbike has been inspired by the RSV1000 R Factory that is equipped with new technology and safety equipment. The styling and design of the scooter looks attractive with the sharp front apron with headlamps. The turn indicators have been placed on the handlebar. The instrument cluster has a simple and layout and features a twin pod analogue speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge.
The SR 150 employs telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The scooter runs on 14-inch wheels with 120/70 tyres. The Aprilia SR 150 has a fuel tank capacity of 7L, which is more than the Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and other 150cc scooters in the market.
