The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lost yet another case of arbitration. The latest verdict to go against the BCCI is a three-year-old dispute with Nimbus, which has won an award worth Rs 12 crores pertaining to television production agreement.
After the pact was terminated in 2012, the dispute went to an Arbitral Tribunal, headed by retd justice SH Kapadia. The former chief justice of India ruled the case favour of Nimbus virtually ruling that the termination was wrongfully done. The verdict was delivered on August 31. Justice Kapadia has upheld the claim of Nimbus in two parts with the amount adding up close to Rs 12 crore. The amount, it is said, is payable to Nimbus as on August 31.
