The broadband speed chart for India and other Asia Pacific nations – prepared by Akamai – for Q1 2014 shows painful experience to Indian Internet users.

As usual, India ranked lowest in broadband average speed with 1.7 Mbps and South Korea had the highest speed at 23.6 Mbps.

In the first quarter, the global average connection speed increased 1.8 percent to 3.9 Mbps, while the global peak connection speed decreased 8.6 percent to 21.2 Mbps.

South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong maintained their solid lead in the average connection speed metric globally and regionally, while India had the lowest at 1.7 Mbps.

South Korea had a 68.5 Mbps peak connection speed, while India had the lowest peak speed at 12 Mbps.

I think Trai should do something to force operators to increase broadband speed.
I read recently that India is rated last among Asia-pac countries for broadband speed & operators are intentionally keeping the speed low.

I am expecting something good in this respect too from current government

Let's see if they will do anything in this regard.
