Broadcasters want tariff to be left to market forces

Arre Bhaiyon, specially the cable tv ones be ready as these broadcasters are all ready to fight to have to their say in deciding prices of channels themselves and don't want TRAI to interfere. The main point in this article is that Broadcasters say that TV is for ''Esteem Viewers'' means for Premium People and ''Non-Essential'' thing.

I still remember Dish TV stating in their fight to reduce Entertainment Tax that TV viewing is a Essential thing and not a Premium Thing so should not be taxed and now these broadcasters are saying the exact opposite but one good thing is that these broadcasters are tightening the noose of MSO's and LCO's as they do shoddy tings like under declaring customer base, asking high carriage fee etc. so i feel broadcasters are valid in asking for transparency.

All in all Cable TV bills will increase in coming days and DTH would still be safe. I believe already it has started with New Packages of Hathway being at par in pricing with DTH. This is another way of broadcasters to make maximum people shift to DTH so that they can earn more money and get transparency
