The state-owned telecom company BSNL has no immediate plans to ride on the 4G bandwagaon Anupam Shrivastava, chief managing director, BSNL, while speaking to the media in Pune on Thursday, said their decision was taken due to the lack of technical expertise with BSNL in regards to the roll out of the 4G network. “BSNL is active in the 4G hot spot services and is going to expand to around 2,500 such WiFi zonez,” he said.

Although there is a fear of losing customers to other private competitors, BSNL won’t be rolling out any 4G plans unless they have a technical expertise, he said. “We don’t want to compromise the operating profit which is around Rs 2,000 crore this year on such schemes. However, there are plans of BSNL to share profits on its 2,500 MHz spectrum, which only BSNL has with other 4G operators,” he said. -http://indianexpress.com/article/cities/pune/bsnl-has-no-plans-yet-to-roll-out-4g-network-2835345/#sthash.5EQHMsfC.dpuf
