Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s No:1 Telecom service provider has commercially launched first-of-its kind high quality Video Telephony(video calling) VVoBB(Voice and Video over Broadband) services in Southern India by Shri Kapil Sibal Hon’ble Minister of Communication and IT on February 11 2013 at 4PM.
First Landline Video call made between Union Minister of State for Communication and IT Killi Kruparani talking to Union Minister for IT and Communication Kapil Sibal through the video telephony service and after it was launched in the Southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and TamilNadu on BSNL wireline broadband connections. Shortly this will be made available in circles of East zone also where work is in advance stage. Any BSNL broadband customer will now be able to make high quality Video call through BSNL’s landline or Fiber network
State owned enterprise ITI is the franchisee for this service for South & East zones and Mumbai based ICT solutions provider M/s Click Telecom is the Technology partner of M/s ITI for this Next generation Video calling service. This service will be made available to BSNL customers in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu on BSNL wireline broadband connections. Shortly this will be made available in circles of East zone also where work is in advance stage
