Reliance Communications (RCOM) has now blocked access to video sharing site DailyMotion in India. On being tipped off on Twitter by @pranesh_prakash, we tried accessing the service using a Reliance Data card, and got the following familiar notice, indicating that “This site has been blocked as per instructions from Department of Telecom (DOT):
Dailymotion has significant partnerships in India: like in case of YouTube, many content owners host their official channels, with news, music videos and clips, on the video sharing site – sites like Rajshri Media, iStream.in, Saavn, BollywoodBackstage, NDTV, Mid Day, NewsX, Lehren, GlamSham have a presence on the channel.
