The Delhi High Court has issued injunctions against 400 websites restraining them from streaming or carrying footage of the 2014 Fifa World Cup matches. Most of the websites operate from outside and are habitual offenders.
Multi Screen Media (MSM), which holds the media rights to the international soccer tournament, had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on Friday to restrain these websites from infringing on its rights by streaming the Fifa WC matches.
The HC has also issued orders directing internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to these websites in India.
