News Delhi HC stays telecast of film on Nirbhaya; MIB asks channels not to show excerpts

In a day of speedy action, the Delhi High Court today upheld the stay on telecast of a documentary based on interviews including one with a convict in the 16 December, 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.

The court also banned telecast of the documentary on the internet too. "Cops can act if the film is aired," the Delhi high court said on Wednesday.

Just because of this telecast, India's image would be tarnished? Already the image has been tarnished and many tourists are staying away from here and BBC india wont telecast here.

BBC snubs India, airs the Nirbhaya documentary in UK, I&B Ministry says it has no jurisdiction over it

After the British Broadcasting Corporation assured the Indian government that Nirbhaya documentary on 2012 Delhi gangrape-murder case will not be aired in the country, Information and Broadcasting Ministry sources on Thursday said the overseas airing of the documentary was beyond their jurisdiction and no diplomatic effort was made to stop the screening of the film.

Sources added that the government will examine if the content is available on YouTube.

The permission was given under the pretext of campaigning. But those rapists and their lawyers have narrow minded and stated that how can a womens' character be good if she roams after 8pm. I guess they are still living in the caveman era.

Only thing which I wants to add that such documentaries are made to malign the repo and slap on us, even though 80% people want convicts to be hanged because of such foreign documentaries our views are forcefully attached with those convicts one.

get the facts right, already India's name has been maligned and many single lady tourists are staying away from here. This is not an excuse to say that BBC is maligning the nation without watching it entirely.
