DEN to offer star channels on ala carte only

The MSO has, through a newspaper advertisement, informed its consumers that the Star channels will be removed from the packages and will be offered to subscribers on a-la-carte basis only. “The industry is moving towards a-la-carte channels and so are we. As per the regulation, we have to inform our consumers 15 days in advance before switching off a channel and putting it on a-la-carte. This is what we are doing,” says a source from the company.

The Star channels will be switched off from first week of November, post which Den subscribers will have to call the cable operator to be able to view the Star channels.

Now what this STAR guys (STAR INDIA peoples) have to say about this move. Almost all STAR channels run the crappy ad about the per day cost of the channel, then why the hell DEN is removing STAR channels. Is they not able to pay 60 paisa per day to STAR SPORTS, 35 paisa per day to Life OK ? Or Indirectly STAR has decided to loot people.

Who knows may be TATA(SKY start giving STAR channels as a ala carte only were Asianet Digital too follow the same suit in upcoming days.

Since Hathway and other operators were complaining that Star is allowing only DEN network to have their channels in packages, DEN is also moving all the Star channels to a-la-carte.

These ads are the clear indications that how costly their channels is if you start adding every channels pricing per day then get ready how much have to shel for those channels per month. Atleast now STAR proving my each and every word when I voice up against them during dishtv - STAR controversy. Real problem is STAR and operator has to face their white collar extortion because of such cheap tactics.

Since many days if you watch any of the STAR channels you will get to see 2 Ads.

1. Digitization and 2. Individual Channel Rate.

One thing to notify that except STAR no other DTH is worry about Digitization ad they continuously run this ad even during Live Sports.

I tried to search this video on YouTube but it's not available. In one such promo, a serial actress says that people say that star channels are costly but star plus is available only for 30 paise per month. What we get in 30 paise now a days. But still star plus is providing immense entertainment in just 30p blah blah blah.
