Infotainment broadcaster Discovery will launch over 130 hours of fresh programming in the third quarter of 2014. This will include 22 new series and four new seasons of returning series on the channel. Some of the shows are ‘Ice Col Gold’, ‘Naked Castaway’, ‘The Mind Control Freaks’ and ‘Deadly Dilemmas’. Each of these new series will showcase reality. ‘Ice Cold Gold’ showcases Greenland and focusses on ice cold miners following American speculators as they fight against the freezing elements, international miners and four short summer months. ‘Naked Castaway’ features Ed Stafford, the world-renowned survivalist and adventurer, tackling the challenges of any environment, with nothing except his camera. He finds everything he needs to not just survive but thrive in some of the world’s toughest environments. With no food, water or shelter watch him battling every day, living each moment as his last. With each episode he progresses to win over his own mind and controls the circumstances around him.
