Dish TV damn confusing UI. Need help.

I just switched from Tatasky HD to Dishtv NxtHD. HD channel quality is as good as Tatasky, no comparable difference (I'm viewing on 43" Samsung tv). SD channel quality is a little bit low compared to Dish TV especially for few regional news channels. Overall I'm satisfied as it costs me much lower than tatasky HD subscription.

But my biggest issue is with the UI & booting time. When starting the box takes more than 1 minute to load & then plays some ads. And then I has to type channel number > It shows channel name > Click OK > Shows "Watch", "Record" etc options > Click on Watch. Finally watch channel. It's just too much & highly unacceptable. Especially for old people it's damn confusing.

I want to know how you guys are dealing with this.

Sorry, I wanted to say the opposite. I'm sleepy when writing this. How can I edit that? It should be "SD channel quality is little bit low compared to Tata Sky for few regional channels. Especially some regional news channels are in so bad quality even compared to analog cable (May be because it was 43" tv)."

his experience is quite natural.

anyone moving from tata sky to dish tv will feel this. because tata sky UI and middleware are quite advance and polished.

For me the best UI experience is with Videocon D2h. You can arrange favorite channels into different lists (for example, I arranged all telugu in list 1, all infotainment in list 2.....however you like). When you press red button in remote it opens list 1, pressing green button opens list 2, pressing yellow opens list 3.....so on). Also we can easily re-arrange/move up or down, channels in any list.

In Tatasky, they allow only 1 favorite list (maximum 50 channels). And no easy option to move channel up/down once you set the list. For eg: I wrongly set TV9 Gujarati instead of TV9 Telugu as Favorite No.3. I've no option but to fully destroy the entire 50 list & rearrange from start.

Dish tv navigation has same disadvantage of Tatasky. In-addition you need many more clicks to watch any channel. Advantages: Nice looking UI - Any TV looks like smart tv, Recording option & Pause Live TV options are really nice & easy to do. Installation/any service within 4 hours.

completely agree with you. i really hated this to rearrange the entire favourite list whenever there was a HD channel addition.
