With January coming to a close, players are once again going to be treated to a month’s worth of amazing video games this coming February. Below are the best February 2016 video games you should buy.
XCOM 2 – Feb. 5 (PC, Mac, Linux)
This sequel to Firaxis’ hit turn-based strategy game will once again test the mettle of players through difficult battles against aliens invading earth. Of course, the perma-death feature found in the first XCOM will make a return, so players need to tread battles carefully or they will face dire consequences.
Dying Light: The Following – Feb. 9 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Released a year ago, the first-person zombie shooter will receive a huge expansion with The Following coming next month. Although it’s only an expansion, it will introduce a lot of new things to Dying Light, including a new map, a new buggy and leveling elements.
Street Fighter V – Feb. 16 (PS4, PC)
One of the most popular fighting games will be receiving a new title next month with Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter V. The game will have a total of 16 characters on launch featuring four newcomers to the franchise. Additionally, there are six characters scheduled to release post-launch. Capcom is looking to break the norm this time by giving players the option to unlock the extra characters either by real-life money or the in-game currency.
Fire Emblem Fates – Feb. 19 (3DS)
The popular 3DS RPG will make a triumphant return next month with Fire Emblem Fates. The game will have a total of three titles. Conquest and Birthright will launch next month, while Revelations will be set in a different release frame. All three titles will feature a different story, so fans will have hours of game time.
Far Cry Primal – Feb. 26 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Ubisoft’s Far Cry series will take a completely different turn with the upcoming Far Cry Primal. Unlike previous titles, Far Cry Primal will not feature bombs, heavy artillery and an arsenal of firepower; instead, players will have to make do with axes, arrows and other primitive weapons. With the game’s setting of the prehistoric era, players can also make use of extinct animals when battling opposing tribes.
