The pay-TV giant will pioneer 4K television in Australia, with cricket the first sport to broadcast in the ultra-crisp pictures
Australia's one-day series against South Africa will create national broadcasting history, with the opening match to mark the first live sport broadcast in 4K resolution.
Foxtel will broadcast all Australian men's international cricket and KFC BBL games in 4K this summer on a new dedicated channel that marks the first year of a six-year $1.182 billion broadcast rights agreement.
The Seven network will be the free-to-air broadcaster of Tests and 43 BBL matches, but international white-ball cricket will be exclusive to Foxtel subscribers, with cricket.com.au to be the home of highlights.
