It can be taken for 7 to 90 days once in a year. No addition charges for it and I always use it when I am out of town for more than 7 days.
It freezes your balance deduction, so it's the best thing which DTH is providing which was not there in cable. And yes it is for active account only I.e within validity. Because once validity is over, account automatically gets deactivated and continue till months.
