Google has finally completed the integration of its mobile advertising subsidiary, AdMob into its mainstream online advertising services.

For the past two years, advertisers wanting to run adverts on mobile devices have had to manage the service separately from their existing mainstream online advertising, but Google has now combined the two systems into a single platform.

Google had already changed how publishers display adverts on mobile devices, which had to be defined as either smartphone or basic device by the website, but now Google automatically determines which sort of advert can be displayed. In addition, advertisers can now reach individuals by targeting specific smartphone or tablet device models (e.g. Samsung Galaxy) or by targeting a particular manufacturer brand.

The latest change enables advertisers to run campaigns across the more than 300,000 mobile applications running ads by AdMob -- all from within the AdWords interface.

Significantly, it also helps publishers increase their revenue by giving them access to a large number of new advertisers.

AdMob's network reaches 23 countries each generating over one billion ad-requests last month, up from 11 countries in April 2011.
