Nokia claims that the recently launched Google Nexus 7 tablet infringes some of its patents. However, for now the Finnish handset maker has not taken any legal action for the same. It's believed that the patents that Nokia is referring to, are related with IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standard.
A Nokia spokesperson told The INQUIRER, "Nokia has more than 40 licensees, mainly for its standards essential patent portfolio, including most of the mobile device manufacturers. Neither Google nor Asus is licensed under our patent portfolio."

"Companies who are not yet licensed under our standard essential patents should simply approach us and sign up for a license."

Nexus 7 tablet was unveiled by Google at its developer summit I/O and is set to go on sale in mid-July . This tablet will run on Android's latest version Jelly Bean and has been priced at $199 for the 8GB version.

Asus or Google are yet to give any comments on this episode.
