Update Google Talk app for Windows will be deprecated

For some time now, our team has shared that we plan to focus our efforts on Hangouts. The Google Talk app for Windows will be deprecated on February 23, 2015. This will allow us to focus on bringing you the most robust and expressive communications experience with Google Hangouts.

I think they have discontinued it long back. Looks like with this decision I won't be able to use even the old installed app.

You can use that previous version app but you will not get any further updates for this app

Update etc has stopped long back. Then whats this new announcement means?

it means that there wont be any further support and the users would be forced to upgrade to hangouts,

I tried to use hangout lot many times but didn't liked it inspite of so many features. Old gtalk was much quick easy and simple to use.
