Govt orders Al Jazeera to go off air for 5 days for showing wrong map of India

The government has ordered international news channel Al Jazeera English to go off air for five days for showing wrong map of India. The Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC) of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has found the channel guilty of violating the programme code as it aired wrong maps of India on repeated occasions. Earlier on 21 August 2014, the MIB had served a show-cause notice to the channel for the same offence

Ban this channel for 5 years atleast, these fools evem dont know the map of india, i thinking they doing this intensely.

Aljazeera is known for many controversies, including their reporters working against a a country.

They does all this intentionally like Pakistani news channel show J&K a part of Pakistan. Al Jajazeera also does the same because their propaganda is like this only. They did reporting against the countries and reports in the favour of separatists and terrorists.

I think many foreign news channels show the Indian boundaries as per international standard.
It seems India is using different maps for inside & outside use.

India portrays full J&K within the country for internal use, at the same time India gives different maps to international agencies like UN for international use. I think its because of Shimla agreement with Pakistan under which India agreed to concede parts of J&K to Pakistan officially.

There is no point making Indian public believe that erstwhile J&K is still part of India when head is shown outside India internationally....Its time for Indian govt to make changes in Indian maps as almost 40-50% of J&K is under control of Pakistan & China.

I think same happened few years back when Microsoft issued Indian maps for use with its s/w & Indian govt objected.

Chinese channel CCTV shows some northern parts of India like UK as part China openly in India. That is more objectionable & govt should ban CCTV for the same....

There are some confusions in the map of India, at one side chinese armies are slowly occupying the arunachal pradesh border and chinese authorities attached part of Arunachal pradesh as its territory..

Its interesting to see how India's map is shown on different international channels, in UN sessions & international conferences.

Because its a International channel.
