GSAT 15 satellite will replace INSAT 4B. DD Free dish will migrate to GSAT 15 in November/December

They might shift all the existing channels from Insat 4B to GSAT 15 if satellite launch is successfull.

Also even DD channels from C band on Insat 4B is being shifted to GSAT 10 on November 11th.

They might retire Insat 4B as this satellite is having lot of issues

May be that is the reason they switched off MPEG4 TP's

Only CK Jain can give that answer as to how many TP's they will get from GSAT 15.

GSAT 15 has 24 ku band TP's

GSAT 15 will be launched into space on 10th Nov. So actual activation of its transponders might happen around new year.

It will have 24 Ku band transponders.

They have already increased base price from 3.7 cr to 4.3 cr for each slot
