Before reading remember I am not against Hathway..I changed from siti to hathway just I know HAthway is biggest MSO in asia..but hathwway Kolkata is very very poor condition....almost 20% people who are provided hathway for last 6 months by there LCO..changed to other service..like DTH....

Now after using hathway for last 6-8 month I have some point to make.....

1)pathetic service
2)Very costly
3)pathetic picture quality
4)Freezing problem(each minute...)
5)pathetic customer care(if u call them..ask a guy why ESPN hd freezing..they will ask you what is channel number..ans after that..they will reply..sir dont know..we dont have HD customer care...!@#$$%^)


Now let me explain in details..
after 6-8 month..they are still unable to add any new HD channel....not only that in between they try to shift to new head-end...3 timed..all 3 times server down..all channels out for whole day......
so as they increase there channel with some c grade channel...all bandwidth gone now..and picture is freezing for every 5 min...
sound quality........one word..pathetic--two word--very pathetic......80% channel have mono sound..YESSSSSSSSSSSS..not stereo

about cost..they are providing all SD pack..with lowest channel..among siti,gtpl,manthan and digcable with maximum price 325........
and for 15 HD they are charging 2400 yearly...yupp.......they stopped Mtunes HD..so now its only 15..for limited time they are giving 2 new HBO channels..with hindi sound...and almost SD quality picture qulity...but after 1 month..they will be gone..because they are not for freeview any more..
so for all sd and 15 hd..have to pay monthly 525...............in videocon it is 22 hd..and 480...in manthan 480(Jumbo HD)......
All other MSO charging in monthly basis..but for hathway..u have to pay yearly..yes 2400 in year start...for 12 month HD pack.......so in between if some HD gone between...like mtunes now..and often trace sports & movies now for 2-3 week...u have no other choice...
2 main hd channel...espn hd and star cricket hd...freeze..pixel burst..every day..
question I searched..for 6 months or 8 months....

will be there any new hd added......answear I get is no.....if increased then yearly 2400 will be increased to 3000..........
ALso they first announced will provied fox sports news,zee q...but now they saying they can't........
later both star spots and star sports 2 will be pay channel...Rs.50 for both

I would suggest you try GTPL. I was in kolkata last week and i had GTPL connection in the hotel room (Peerless Inn) I was amazed to see the channel variety and count. Though i did not count it but i guess it offered more than 400 channels and also almost all HD channels guess 25 + GTPL-KCBPL :: Leading Multi System Operator (MSO) in Kolkata
Again i was in Ahmedabad today they also had GTPL in Comfort inn...Same STB (Cisco) and almost identical channel list baring from regional gujarati channel which was maximum.
Fastway has great services in Ludhiana & Chandigarh they also offer almost all channels
I was wondering if we had such cable operator in my city i would not take DTH connection.

That's a bizarre situation and service by Hathaway. That's the reason DTH service grew so much. There was always a huge scope in cable business and it's there is a lot of scope if this is the Service given by Hathway.

Didn't Didi launched her own MSO yet in Kolkata? :p

thingNo she did not...she will close facebook and youtube first(as she claimed previously)..then own MSo..lol..
anyway I am shifting to videocon d2h...
used siti cable 8 year..will give 7 out of 10...changed to hathway for hd
used hathway for 8 month..score will be 0 out of 10....
only thing concern me for taking d2h is star sports 2 is not there.....confused now

Same kind of problem in Pune also. Thats y i switched to Videocon D2h.
Dull sound and continuous freezing problem,let it be day or night.

Atleast D2H is far more better than hathway. Just go for it.

whats use..same 16 hd....no new hd...and probably total 480 price...then why not d2h.....siti cable missing...sony six hd,ten hd....
