Hyderabad DD channel name changed as Yadhagiri

previously Hyderabad DD channel name was Sapthagiri and now Vijayawada DD channel started and Sapthagiri name goes to Vijayawada DD channel now Hyderabad DD channel name changed as Yadhagiri.This month 27th on wards the channel will start with this name.

Sapthagiri means 7 hills which is home of God balaji means Thirupathi indicates to andhra pradesh.Yadharigi gutta is the home of god Narsimha swami which is there in Telangana(near by Hyderabad).So yadagiri is DD Hyderabad name.

Now, DD launches 'Yadagiri' for Telangana

Doordarshan, which had hitherto only channel in Telugu called “Saptagiri” is now launching its Telangana regional channel by name “Yadagiri.’ It will start its programmes from September 27. Telangana State Chief Minister KCR has finalized the name of the channel for Telangana region, and suggested it to the Doordarshan authorities, following the State bifurcation.
