The Benami Prohibition wing of Income Tax Department has frozen assets worth ₹2,000 crore belonging to former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa's aide VK Sasikala Natarajan. These assets include two properties, located in Siruthavur and Kodanad, worth ₹300 crore. Sasikala is serving a four-year jail term in a disproportionate assets case and is likely to be released in January 2021.
