International Datacasting Corporation, a global leader in digital content distribution for the world's premiere broadcasters, will address executives in a keynote presentation on the critical challenges and opportunities facing Direct-to-Home (DTH) broadcasters in emerging markets at Convergence India, January 16-18, 2013, New Delhi.

Recent analyst research from Frost & Sullivan (Dec. 2012) estimates that India will see over 100 million DTH subscribers by 2018, and notes that India is set to become the largest DTH market in the world. Many of these subscribers will reside in multiple dwelling units (MDUs) which are being constructed to meet the residential demands of an exploding population. Typically, MDUs consist of apartments, gated communities, hotels, and campuses. The existing modes of broadcast content distribution in these densely populated regions are not designed for or developed to handle this level of demand.

International Datacasting's Digital Tattoo(TM) platform is designed to address the specific needs of content delivery to residential and commercial MDUs. IDC's unique platform enables DTH satellite operators to expand their customer base for existing services within these buildings, and to extend the range of services they offer including comprehensive Video on Demand (VOD) and Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) services.
