Aided by low oil prices, India's largest airline by domestic carriage, IndiGo, has posted its highest ever net profit of Rs 1,304 crore in the 2014-15 fiscal. Founded in 2005, this is the seventh profitable year for IndiGo in a row with revenues growing to Rs 14,320 crore in the last fiscal.

IndiGo, whose IPO is going to hit the market later this year, filed its financial result with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Wednesday. According to that submission, IndiGo added 17 aircraft to its fleet in the last fiscal and it today operates a fleet of 97 Airbus A320s on which it operates 648 daily flights.

Thanks to a combination of total lower cost (led by low fuel price), a combination of higher capacity, growth in passenger numbers and higher yields, IndiGo's profit rose over four times from Rs 317 crore in FY 2014 to Rs 1,304 crore in FY 2015. The revenue grew from Rs 11,447 crore in FY 2014 to Rs 14,320 crore in FY 2015.

This IPO will be a hit, but these guys are caught on the wrong foot by TATA'S for using Indigo their sedan name much before their IPO launch
