Jet Airways (India) Ltd, the country’s second largest airline by passengers carried, on Thursday launched special fares offering discounts up to 20% on base fares to stimulate demand for the lean season.
The special fares will be applicable on tickets booked between 2 and 6 June for travel between 25 June and 30 September. It will be valid on all direct flights across Jet Airways’ extensive domestic network, the airline said in a statement.
From June to mid-October, it is lean season for airlines, while the summer quarter of April to June is peak travel season as schools close for holidays.
According to a Jet Airways statement, a typical Delhi-Chandigarh ticket is available at Rs.817 (excluding government charges, fees and taxes), while Bengaluru-Chennai is available at Rs.620.
A Mumbai-Goa ticket is as cheap as Rs.1,107, while a Mumbai-Bengaluru ticket is available at Rs.1,360, according to the airline. Other airlines are expected to follow suit.
