The Anti-Fraud Detection Department of Kolkata Police has arrested two Hathway Cable & Datacom officials along with a cable operator in Kolkata, in connection with a complaint filed by Digicable against Amit Nag and others. Subsequent to these arrests and based on information provided by the arrested Hathway staff, police raided a three-storey building near Raja Bazar Science College and seized around 1.5 lakh set-top boxes (STB) belonging to Digicable which were allegedly held by Hathway. Digicable Comm, the Kolkata subsidiary of Digicable, had filed a criminal complaint against Nag, Trinanjan Maity and others last year for forgery, misappropriation, theft and conspiracy. In its complaint Digicable alleged that Nag had misused his position as CEO of Digicable Comm to forge agreements, share vital information to a rival MSO, and misappropriate digital materials, thus causing huge financial loss to the company.
