MUMBAI: Indian Super League (ISL), promoted by IMG Reliance and Star India, has unveiled its official emblem with great fanfare here today at an event attended by the eight team owners. The league’s official tagline is “Let’s football”. The official ISL logo, a red outline of a football, symbolises the dynamism and fast pace of the game. This is reinforced by the use of the colour red, which exudes energy and passion, ISL said in a statement.
As a show of strength behind the ISL, Football Sports Development chairperson Nita Ambani led the eight team owners to a pledge—committing to the league’s vision in bring a footballing revolution across the country. Joining her on stage were Sachin Tendulkar (Kerala Blaster FC), Ranbir Kapoor (Team Mumbai), Abhishek Bachchan (Team Chennai), Samir Manchanda (Delhi Dynamos), John Abraham (North East United), Kapil Wadhawan (FC Pune City), Varun Dhawan (FC Goa) and Utsav Parekh (Atletico de Kolkata), along with Star India COO Sanjay Gupta and AIFF president Praful Patel. ‘Let’s football’, the league’s official line, is an apt fit to its ambition in connecting with today’s youth and creating interest in millions to play the sport professionally.
