Mahindra has officially confirmed that it will launch the NuvoSport in the 1st week of April. While this vehicle looks like a redesigned Quanto, it is based on the same new-generation platform as the Scorpio and TUV300.
The NuvoSport has been designed and developed in-house by the Mahindra design team, while the research and development of the vehicle has been carried out at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai.
Like many Mahindra vehicles, the NuvoSport doesn't have the most inoffensive styling. It sports new black body cladding, new tail lights, a roof spoiler, a revised spare wheel cover, more chiselled body panels and a redesigned fascia. The new front bumper with an integrated skid plate, new fog lamps and bonnet scoop also add to the model's aggressive appeal and the overall design seems to be appreciably better than the Quanto's.
The NuvoSport may use the TUV300's 1.5L diesel engine.
