The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two directors of a Bhojpuri TV channel for obtaining loans to the tune of about Rs.100 crore from three nationalised banks allegedly on forged documents.
It is alleged that the Mahuaa television channel directors forged invoices and certificates from Chartered Accounts, against which they applied for loans from nationalised banks for business expansion. After the fraud was detected, the banks lodged complaints in January.
The CBI took up investigations and arrested the two directors a couple of days ago. They were produced in a special court that granted their police custody to the agency for interrogation.
