Kerala based Flowers TV launched their new FM channel, Flowers FM, catering to their Dubai audience on May 7. About 2.6 million Indians migrate to the United Arab Emirates, the large majority being from Kerala. They mainly occupy three major cities of the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. For the Flowers group, who have just entered the Dubai market with their new radio channel, they form the key market segment.
Flowers TV also launched their new app-First News Live-in April this year, which has been very successful, as per a source. The app was launched by celebrated Malayalam actor Mohanlal. Going ahead, they plan to launch a Malayalam news channel ‘24’ sometime in August or September.
For Managing Director Sreekandan Nair, some of the top shows of this channel are Star Challenge, Smart Show, Comedy Super Nite and Indian Music League. Star Challenge has become one of the first reality shows to be shot outside India. Nair is a well-known celebrity among the Malayali crowd for his talk show Nammal Thammil.
